I.

Slow before fast.

Wood that grew over decades cannot be hurried into being. Every plank rests, dries, and settles before it meets a blade.

II.

Hand before machine.

Machines square the lumber. Hands give it character. The final pass is always a knife, an oil, a cloth.

III.

Honest before ornate.

A board should remember its tree. We finish to reveal grain, not to disguise it.
